# How Lev9 works

> Understand how Lev9 carries out work and how you stay in control.

This is a placeholder concept page. It shows the page pattern every concept page follows: a one-line subtitle, a short introduction, one diagram, flat sections, and a closing set of next steps.

Lev9 brings together three elements: a **model** to plan the work, **tools** to act on it, and **your review** to decide when it is done.

![Diagram: you set the goal, Lev9 plans, acts, and checks the work, then you review it and send feedback for revisions.](https://mintcdn.com/lev9-doc/ryh_NxStePqG77hY/images/how-it-works-light.svg?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=ryh_NxStePqG77hY\&q=85\&s=949a36f54b7381b293e6eee3315e724a)

You set the goal, Lev9 plans, acts, and checks, then you review the result.

## Chat and delegated work

The main difference is how much of the next step you hand over.

| What changes | Chat | Delegated work |
| - | - | - |
| How you start | Ask a question. | Describe the outcome and the boundaries. |
| What happens next | You guide each exchange. | Lev9 carries out several steps toward the goal. |
| What you receive | A response. | Finished work, with open questions. |
| Your role | Check each answer. | Set direction and review the result. |

## Review the work

Review is part of the work. A confident summary does not prove the task succeeded.

1. **Continue** when the work is on track.
2. **Redirect** when it drifts from the goal.
3. **Pause and decide** when it needs your judgment.
